Revolution Plus; An insight to Plus Sized Rights

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about a substantial change in the plus-sized fashion industry. But are these changes substantial enough to meet the demands of plus-sized consumers?

Here are some key points to discuss when it comes to size inclusivity in fashion.

Size Inclusivity

Size inclusivity is a very important topic these days as the fashion industry is an ever expanding plain of creativity and innovation. Though in retrospect, there is still plenty to address when it comes to the global community. With some major fashion houses still lacking when it comes to the size and inclusivity of their designs and wares.

A Diamond in the Rough

From a marketing standpoint, some large companies fail to see the potential market that plus-sized fashion has to offer even with movements such as the #bodypositivity and #plussizeplease to aid in the spreading of the market. Big companies should try and explore the potential of these as the demand is there for plus size clothing.

It’s not just a Phase

In a study conducted by Money C. (2017) the efforts that are made by the industry and media are actually enough to make up for the years that they’ve turned a blind eye to plus-size fashion. Her personal analysis states that she was not fully convinced but is encouraged by what she’s observing now. As plus-size fashion is both a social movement and a cultural revolution, as the limited options for clothing have become a challenge for plus-sized people. They want to see more than just extra patterns on fabrics.

Conclusion

The advent of plus-sized fashion might still be a challenge for the fashion industry as we see now, but in hopes that it would change within a few years is somewhat encouraging. As we continue to fight for our voices to be heard.
