Love Curves PH, a fashion brand dedicated to empowering plus-sized women, was born out of the struggles that founder and designer Ms. Jen Go witnessed in her friend’s search for stylish, size-inclusive clothing. At a time when plus-sized options were limited and often outdated, Jen took matters into her own hands, starting Love Curves PH in 2011. Since then, her brand has grown into a go-to online clothing brand for fashionable, comfortable clothing for women who are tired of compromising style for size.
Ms. Jen, who plays a hands-on role in the brand’s design and production, offers a unique perspective on the plus-size fashion industry. She recalls how, in the past, plus-sized women had to settle for either overly mature styles or outdated surplus clothes. Love Curves PH was her solution—creating designs that were not just about covering a larger body but embracing it with flair.
Marketing the brand was a challenge initially, as there was little awareness about plus-size fashion in the Philippines. However, Jen utilized Facebook ads, word-of-mouth, and early partnerships with platforms like Zalora to grow the brand’s reach. Today, her marketing strategies include creating relatable, body-positive ads that highlight natural beauty, working with influencers, and engaging in sales campaigns that appeal to her target market’s preferences.
Transparency and inclusivity remain at the core of Love Curves PH. “For me, I portray the ads like how “regular sized” women are portrayed” Ms. Jen says. She takes pride in offering accurate sizing and clear product descriptions, ensuring customers know exactly what they’re getting. “I don’t manipulate my models. Whatever their size is in the picture, that’s it.”
In addition, her commitment to quality control and sustainability further sets the brand apart in an era of disposable fashion.
